Online Reviews

I feel that in general, online reviews are rather skewed. This is primarily due to the fact that they are highly coordinated classes. By that I mean, as professors, we are caretakers of the coordinated course and exist solely to answer emails and discussion questions quickly as well as hold to the rules set forth in the syllabus.

We do not make the Syllabus, choose the homework problems, design the test, take part in the lecture videos, lecture content, or determine grade distribution or even homework dates and pace.

This is not by any means to “throw” our beloved coordinators under the bus. In fact, I strongly agree with their structure / pacing / etc… I think that they are setting students up for success. Bare in mind that the amount of content available for students each year increases and is more than the previous year. When I took Differential equations, I had lecture notes and a book from the 70’s.

That being said, reading reviews where as proxy, I am blamed/judged for x,y,z, is not fun which I am sure most people would agree. However, in light of my desire for transparency, feel free to peruse.
