So the above image is most definitely not The England University. However, it is a university in England! I’m just a big fan of fantastic architecture. We don’t see that very much here in Phoenix, AZ.
What The England University actually is, is a collection of lecture notes and example problems from courses I have taught. As the years have gone by, students have helped and it is starting to take shape. As it stands right now it is a MediaWiki site.
My goal is to have all STEM course content available. It’s very easy to find information for Calculus I, II, and III online. But what about a great Fluid Mechanics resource with examples? Thermodynamics? Rocket Propulsion? Once engineering students get to their Junior year, the number of resources that exist for the classes they are taking has shrunk considerably. This is in part due to companies not wanting to bother with them. They are casting the widest net they can to make the most money and have, imho, dropped the ball on actually helping STEM students.
With great power comes great responsibility. In like fashion, with great resources and wealth, should also come great responsibility. I’m awaiting the day when we have these materials available at a reasonable price for students, but until that day I will continue adding content to my site.
